Two Stories, One Nightmare

The game splits your time between Saga in the physical world and Alan in the Dark Place, and the contrast is intentional. Saga's Bright Falls is wet, grounded, and full of people who seem suspiciously weird even by Pacific Northwest standards. Alan's New York is neon and nightmare, constructed from his own subconscious and clearly falling apart. You choose when to switch. We'd recommend leaning into Saga's chapters early on, they establish the rhythm of the game and give you tools you'll need when the Alan sections start asking more of you. The crossover moments, when both stories collide, are where the game earns its ambitions.
